Ellipse Tudor Style Necklace

March 1, 2009

Ellipse Tudor Style Necklace

This necklace is an example of personalizing a pattern from a magazine. My mom bought me the February/March 2009 Beadwork Magazine for my birthday because she loved the Ellipses Necklace. I thought it looked challenging, so I gave it a go.

I didn’t start out with any sort of plan — I just knew I wanted the pendant. I didn’t really like the length or style of the chain. The pendant is quite large, so I wanted a shorter chain. I chose embellished right angle weave to echo the right angle weave of the pendant, and because I liked the ribbon-like drape.

My sister calls this The Other Boleyn Girl necklace — I have to agree, I think it feels very regal and would really go with the costumes in the film!
