Bohemian Girl Floral Statement Necklace

October 24, 2009

Bohemian Girl Necklace

Good news for all us bead weavers: statement necklaces are currently the it accessory.

I created this floral statement necklace with a creative, bohemian vibe in mind, which is why I chose a vibrant ruby red and amethyst colour palette.

The floral centre piece was created by capturing each amethyst cabochon in a bezel and then working herringbone stitch and increasing every stitch rapidly. I hung a dyed turquoise pendant off the flowers to add more bang. Finally, I finished it off by stringing ruby AB seed beads, amethyst rounds, and siam AB Swaroski bicones and adding an adjustable closure.

This necklace is wonderful. I like the red colour and those beautiful flowers in the center.

Thank you! Red is beautiful, but challenging to use, so I’m glad it worked out.
