Swirling Sun St. Petersburg Chain Necklace

Swirling Sun St. Petersburg Chain Necklace

I recently made this necklace from a pattern from Bead and Button designed by Hatsumi Oshitani, a bead artist from japan.

I always find myself drawn to Hatsumi’s beadwork because she uses St. Petersburg Chain in so many different ways. Check out this interview to see some examples of her work.

The necklace pictured above uses the St. Petersburg Chain in two ways: to capture the cabochon and to embelish the twisted odd-count tubular herringbone chain.

This is definately a fun necklace to wear and a great way to show off a cabochon, such as the hematite cabochon I chose to use.
